Local Color | Art Ark
- A community art exhibition. One of my new pieces is hanging here, I have not posted it anywhere else. Omar will be at the Art Reception on September 20th. This coincides with the Martha Gardens Arts Festival '08. The Arts Festival will be an interactive event that is fun for both the kids and the adults! The free festival includes art-cars and low-riders, a kids art-car parade, live art performances, music and dance, crafts for kids, food and hands on painting. Definitely worth stopping by and checking out. I won't be here because I will be at Curtis Fest in Sacramento that day. But I will be the docent on October 11th at the Art Ark. If you can't make the Martha Gardens Arts Festival '08, swing by on the 11th to check the art show out.

Heart of Chaos once again brings an explosion of color and vitality to the community with the 2nd Annual Chalk Art Festival! Local artists from Heart of Chaos and Heart of Kids, the new youth art collective, will demonstrate a variety of chalk art and invite you to join in the fun with provided sidewalk chalk. There will also be live music provided by KSJS Dj! Come out and bring the family for some free fun in the sun creating great art with the community! This will be the first event in a two part series. The second event will take place on August 30th at a seperate venue to be announced. Heart of Chaos and Heart of Kids are programs of the non-profit organization Catalyst for Youth. Battersea Station cranked out inprovational jazz the entire evening,
with crowds surrounding them as well as enjoying the art galleries.
